New Kitchen Design Gets Inspiration From Night Clubs
The client desired an open kitchen space with inspiration from nightclubs to compliment his active social life.
Owner and general contractor Lenny Ilkovich entertains a lot, and his nightclub-like kitchen was designed to be the focal point of all activity. Architect Richard Loosle of D.C.-based Kube Architecture combined the home’s three separate first-floor rooms into a single, continuous space, defining the kitchen with a dropped ceiling, dark porcelain floor tiles, and black-stained ash base cabinets with a black Caesarstone countertop. A vividly contrasting green countertop draws guests to the full-length island, while LED lighting recessed into the walls and ceiling changes colors to suit the mood of any occasion.
