What You Should Know About Caesarstone Countertops

Caesarstone patented their process for transforming naturally mined quartz into durable, high-quality countertops in 1987 and their name has been synonymous with innovative, trend-setting designs ever since.

Quartz is one of the hardest stone surfaces and Caesarstone countertops contain up to 90% pure quartz crystals molded with binding agents and pigments, giving them a reputation for superior craftsmanship and reliability.

How to Take Care of Caesarstone Countertops

Caring for a Caesarstone countertop takes very little effort and is one of Caesarstone’s main selling features. During the binding process, not only are Caesarstone countertops formed with a solid constitution, but their surfaces also become non-porous. The non-porous surface acts as a barrier to foods, liquids, bacteria and mold and resists stains and viruses.

Here are a few tips to help you care for a Caesarstone countertop:

  • Clean Caesarstone quartz with a mild soap, warm water and a non-abrasive cloth
  • Keep Caesarstone countertops dry and wipe up any spills or splashes as quickly as possible
  • Use hot pads and trivets when placing hot cookware on a Caesarstone countertop
  • Use a cutting board and try not to leave sharp objects laying on Caesarstone

FAQs:

How much does a slab of Caesarstone cost?

Pricing for a slab Caesarstone depends on a few factors such as the colour and pattern, the thickness, the shape and the edge profile. When installing a Caesarstone countertop, other factors that can affect the price include the number of cut-outs and angles.

Is Caesarstone more expensive than granite?

Caesarstone comes in a wide range of price points. On either end of that scale, Caesarstone can be more expensive than granite but for the most part, they are comparable in price.

Like everything else, you get what you pay for and there are advantages of Caesarstone quartz over granite countertops, such as durability, ease of maintenance and a wider variety of styles and colours, that can make Caesarstone well worth the cost.

Can you put hot pans on Caesarstone?

Caesarstone recommends placing a trivet or hot pad underneath hot pans, pots toaster ovens and other sources of heat.

While Caesarstone countertops are heat-resistant in day-to-day use, like all natural stones, placing a high-temperature heat source directly on it can burn the countertop and leave a mark.

Does Caesarstone need to be sealed?

Caesarstone countertops do not need any sealants or waxes. Their surfaces are non-porous and naturally anti-bacterial as the surface of a Caesarstone countertop does not allow mold, bacteria, mildew or stains to penetrate.

This also means that Caesarstone countertops do not require polishing.
